Adopting a Furry Friend During Spring and Summer

May 30, 2023

Spring is in full swing, and as the sun shines brighter and the flowers bloom, the change of season brings a wave of new beginnings. What a perfect time to embrace the joys of life, and what better way than by adding a new furry companion to your family?

The NOAH Center is knee-deep in the anticipated influx of homeless kittens and puppies during “kitten season.” Our Adoption Center is FULL, and you can help! By adopting a new dog, puppy, cat, or kitten during this time, you gain a loving and loyal companion and play a vital role in providing a second chance for these innocent pets!

Joy and Companionship
Welcoming a new four-legged family member brings abundant joy and companionship into your life. Dogs and cats have an incredible ability to bring happiness, comfort, and unconditional love. Whether it’s the playful antics of a puppy or the soothing purrs of a kitten, their presence can brighten even the gloomiest of hearts.

Save a Life and Make a Difference
“Kitten season” refers to the time of year in spring and summer when cats (and dogs, too!) typically birth their litters, resulting in shelters like ours becoming overwhelmed with homeless kittens and puppies and causing a significant strain on resources. However, by adopting a new pet, you help to save a life by providing them with a loving home. In addition, each adoption creates space in our Adoption Center, enabling us to take in and care for even more animals.

Health and Well-Being
Pets offer more than just companionship; they also contribute to our well-being. Numerous studies have shown that having a pet can improve mental and physical health. For example, playing with a dog or engaging in interactive play with a cat can reduce stress, lower blood pressure, and increase overall happiness, and the regular exercise and outdoor activities associated with having a dog promote an active lifestyle for you and your furry friend.

Training and Bonding Opportunities
Adopting a puppy or kitten during the spring and summer presents a unique opportunity for training and bonding. Young animals are like sponges, eager to learn and please their human friends. You can shape their behavior and teach them essential skills with patience, consistency, and positive reinforcement. In addition, the training process strengthens the bond between you and your pet, fostering a relationship built on trust and mutual understanding.

A Wide Variety of Choices
The NOAH Center often has many dogs, puppies, cats, and kittens of varying breeds, ages, and colors waiting for their forever homes during the spring and summer. So, whether you’re looking for a specific breed, temperament, or size or are open to anyone who steals your heart, you’re more likely to find the perfect match during this time. Our team carefully assesses each animal’s temperament, health, and behavior, allowing you to make the best decision by finding a pet that fits seamlessly into your family.

Support from The NOAH Center
The NOAH Center is proud to provide support and guidance throughout the adoption process and beyond. Our knowledgeable staff is here to assist you in selecting the right pet, answering any questions, and providing valuable resources for pet care. In addition, after adoption, we provide a series of follow-up emails with guidance in settling in your new friend, plus an entire section of our website is dedicated to post-adoption information and resources, ensuring that you and your new furry friend start on the right paw.

Spring and summer bring new beginnings, and adopting a dog, puppy, cat, or kitten during this season is a meaningful way to embrace change while making a positive impact. By opening your heart and home to a homeless animal, you gain a loving and loyal companion and save a life. So let’s create a brighter future for these innocent pets and experience the countless joys of adopting a new furry friend!
