For years Wyatt and his (big) baby brother Sarge were living their best life with their human mom. Sadly, their mom passed unexpectedly, which left these big boys in the care of her adult son who just did not have the means or the space to take them in.
Wyatt was adopted from The NOAH Center almost 10 years ago when he was a puppy (peep his adorable adoption picture). So, in March, when our team got the call that Wyatt was looking for a new home there was no question as to whether we’d accept him back, but then the other (extra-large) paw dropped, Wyatt had been living with a larger-than-life 5+ year old Mastiff, Sarge.
We couldn’t take Wyatt and then turn Sarge away regardless of him not being an alum of The NOAH Center, so we agreed to take them both!
It’s been over a month now and our staff and volunteers have truly enjoyed getting to know them, but we all want to see t hem find a home of their own. Don’t let their intimidating sizes fool you, these boys are just big lovebugs. Once you see the 237-pound mastiff carry his blankie around their suite, or have Wyatt sweetly nudge you for pets, your heart will melt.

June 25, 2026 – Update:
Today, more than 4 months later, Sarge & Wyatt are still waiting for their lives outside of the shelter walls to start. Our team recently had to make the tough decision to un-bond these boys to increase their potential of being adopted. Not only are Sarge & Wyatt gentle giants, but both follow strict diets which make their adoptions more complicated.
We’ve made efforts and have reached out to many big dog and Mastiff-specific rescues in hopes that they will be able to give Sarge & Wyatt more room and more exposure to loving potential adopters.
Sarge & Wyatt’s story has come at a critical time for The NOAH Center. As we begin renovations through our 2025 Capital Improvements Campaign, construction will temporarily reduce our canine housing, leaving fewer kennels available for dogs in need.
Sarge & Wyatt need a forever home now more than ever (they can definitely go home together if the right adopter comes along!). Their adoption will not only give these devoted brothers the happy ending they deserve, but it will also open space for the next dogs with nowhere else to turn.
Our team is heartbroken by the lack of interest from adopters and their prolonged stay here at The NOAH Center. Our only wish is that they get to spend the rest of their golden years with loving families and be the wonderful dogs they truly are.
