On a day like any other, Lila and her person went for their routine outing to her favorite local dog park. At 8 years old Lila had been around the yard a time or two, so she did what she always did, played with friends, smelled the new smells, and chased a ball. All was well until she was attacked by an unknown dog. What started like a normal day turned out to be anything but. After this incident her owners felt that dog ownership was no longer something they could handle. Sadly, Lila was returned to The NOAH Center with a broken heart and some superficial cuts and bruises. Luckily her sweet personality is still intact!
Due to her age, Lila has been in the shelter for many weeks now, watching new faces pass by without giving her a second glance. She pretends it doesn’t hurt, but Lila is tired of waiting for her furever family to take her home, which is why she asked us to help share her story plus some pertinent information about her for her future family to see!
Lila wants her future family to know that age is but a number, she’s still got plenty of life and love left to give. At first, she maintains a calm demeanor but, on the inside, she’s bursting with joy because you stopped by to say hi!
Her most prized possessions are her Lambys (AKA Lamb-Chop Toys). She has a big Lamby for snuggling and a small Lamby for playing. They are a package deal, and she kindly requests that her new family welcomes them all with open arms.
A good round of fetch is always on the table, but she reserves the right to respectfully end the game or decline the invitation. She has superb leash skills and loves to ride in the car!
She is open to sharing her home with new feline, canine, and young hooman friends but is not interested in adding hamsters or birds to her list of acquaintances.
She does follow a special diet to help maintain her beautiful coat and skin due to allergies, and because she can’t do the grocery shopping, she asked us to make sure her new family understands that following her diet is super important for her health.
